Wrist Case 11 Diagnosis
PIsiform fracture
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of pisiform fractures can usually be made on plain radiographs.
In cases with a high clinical suspicion for pisiform fracture, the pisiform can be visualized with a carpal tunnel view (not often performed) or a lateral wrist view obtained with the wrist in 20 to 30 degrees of supination. CT scan can definitively diagnose the fracture.
