Leg/Knee Case 7 Additional Images
Patella/Quadriceps Tendon Rupture
Another view of the original case with the bone fragment less visible but the high-riding patella clear
A lateral view of a different knee with a large joint effusion and an undulating appearance of the quadriceps musculature, suggestive of quadriceps tendon rupture.
Subcutaneous air, a small effusion, a fracture of the patella and patella alta (high riding patella) consistent with rupture of the patellar tendon.
This is a case of quadriceps tendon rupture. The patella appears quite prominent due to the large defect just proximal to it where the quadriceps tendon has ruptured.
